Vintage French Provincial Desk and Chair – “Bella”

Reference #: DR0258

$420 (includes tax)

Something strange happened when we finished this girl’s revival. The place just got a whole lot classier! Mama and I started watching our P’s & Q’s, Mama even broke out a new shirt that had no paint on it and I scrubbed my feet and painted my toenails last night, and even wore shoes today while I worked! Mama hasn’t cursed once yet today and decided we should break at noon for crumpets and tea.

Whaaaat???

Now, coffee drinking Mama is sitting in the corner all dainty with her English Rose tea with that pinkie stuck out like she’s the queens poor cousin or something. I can assure you all that this will not last, the lack of cursing nor the tea drinking and we’ll be slurping soup from our bowls by midday.

Although I must say this stunning French Provincial Console table that we have re-purposed into a lovely desk does kind make you want to step up your game and be a little bit more sophisticated. She’s quite aristocratic in her styling and certainly in her disposition. Not a hair out of place with this girl. We shocked her a bit with our colour choice though, actually it rocked her blue blooded world a whole lot. A hot pinky red custom blend from Country Chic Paint was in order and the results do not disappoint!

She also has a freshly stained top with her trim work slightly darker to give her a bit of edginess and distinction. She has two working drawers and has finished woodworking in the back to match the front, so if you don’t want her against the wall she can easily be free standing.

It’s a huge change for a modest girl, but with class and grace she embraced her new hue, and like every great beauty, demands your attention when she enters the room. We have complimented her with a gorgeous newly upholstered vintage chair so that she can be used as a working desk or tucked underneath her just for show!

She came to us as Arabella but she will be leaving us as Bella, a little brighter, a little hipper, but still the classiest gal in town. Now Mama and I, we will try for brighter and hippier but we think the classy bus left town a long time ago!
