Antique Dresser – “Elsa”

“Reference #: DR0367

$320 (includes tax)

I am currently at the opposite end of our great big beautiful country while Mama holds the Dustbin fort down for a few days. Left Ontario, and it was a balmy -1°. When we stepped off the plane in the less than balmy Alberta, it was -27° with the lows overnight this coming week to be -36°. So you will have to forgive the brief introduction of this old girl, but I am sitting in the car, which thankfully started, waiting for it to warm up and trying to type in mittens, which of course, does not work. So you are all spared my usual ramblings as I can only keep my fingers exposed for brief moments!!

Today I am so thankful that we painted this lovely antique piece in “Happy Hour” from Country Chic Paint! She is a reminder of Spring with her fresh minty green, and for a minute, I can forget that I cannot feel the majority of my body parts. We found her markings, and she was made in 1920, which gives her official antique status! We were so thrilled to rescue and revive her in her 100th year, and she’s a grateful lovely lady. She was a bit rough when we found her, but she had this glorious light wood under her crackled stain, and we exposed it on her top and legs, ridding her of her dated and worn appearance. With the addition of these darling drop drawer handles from D. Lawless Hardware, she is an absolute charmer. Perfect dresser, change table or hall stand, and who can’t help smile at her fresh colour?

She has been named Elsa, quite simply because I am “Frozen!”

Measurements – 36″L x 17″D x 35″H
